Friday Night Features

Today I realized that there is only one month until school starts for my kids.  WHAT?  Where did the summer go???  All summer I keep thinking "next week things will slow down and I will enjoy the lazy days of summer."  So far I have yet to see that happen.

This week we had our big family reunion.  It was so much fun.  I think there were somewhere around 50 of us there in all.  It was really great, so I am going to share a bit of a run down with you so that maybe if you are planning something fun with a large group this will give you a few ideas.

Monday morning there was a tour of the capital building and then we all met up at one of my husbands Aunt and Uncle's house for a BBQ.  At the BBQ there was face painting stuff out.  (Which I am kicking myself because I forgot to take pictures of the kids with their faces painted.  Logan was Captain America so you know it was pretty awesome.)  We also tie dyed tee shirts and all the little kids got to pick inexpensive little treasure from a box.  Among those there were the strobe light necklaces (think rave) that is kids had a blast with running around the yard after it got dark.  We also watched a movie on screen in the back yard after it got dark and of course there where tons of treats.

Tuesday we reserved a pavilion at Lagoon and the whole family had fun riding rides and hanging out.

Wednesday we met up at the Living Planet Aquarium in Salt Lake.  I was really impressed with it and the kids had a ball  We weren't on a guided tour or anything, but it was still fun for the kids to be there with all their cousins. and there is a $3 off admission coupon here if you want to check it out.  After that we went to another aunt and uncle's house for a hot dog roast.  We also roasted marshmallows, the kids played in a kiddie pool with squirt guns and stuff, then we had our annual everybody's birthday party  and we ended the night with fireworks.

Good good times.  Thanks to Jean for planing all of it and everyone who helped her.

Okay so on the the features.  There are a lot of them this week.   So much awesomeness, I had a hard time narrowing it down.

I am in love with this baby shower cake from Domestic Charm

Umm.... I WANT!  You were thinking the same thing right?  There is a great tutorial at Blue. Lace. House.  Too bad the tutorial doesn't tell you where to get that awesome aqua sewing machine.

Tonya at Love of Family and Home did such a good job on this typography.  I like it better than the original that inspired her.

This monster tooth pillow from The Crunchy Mamacita is so much cooler that a tooth fairy pillow.  I also like her's better than the one that inspired her.

Awesome pillow from Brown Paper Packages.

Seriously Seriously CUTE lemonade stand from Lil Luna.

I have been wanting to get back into crocheting, and this blanket from Maybe Matilda is a really good example as to why.  So fun right?  I just want to wrap a baby up in it.

C-U-T-E mantel from La Famille.

Simple and beautiful wall vases from Craftberry Bush.
