This and That

Lets start with THIS.

THIS week is Spring Break.  YAY!  Ok kinda not so much.  Last week I was kinda lamenting about Spring Break.  I love the idea of not getting up and having to get Emma ready for school and then load 4 kids into a van to drive Emma to school.  BUT I also know that when there is suddenly no school there is an up swing in boredom, whining, and fighting among the shorter people of my household.  So I planed a preemptive strike.

Here is the plan.

Monday: Ogden Eccels Dinosaur Park.  To add to the fun we invited anyone who wanted to join us.  About 16 friends took us up on the offer.
I thought I was so on top of things and then I got to the park and realized that I had forgotten to put the battery back in the camera after charging it.  So these are phone pictures.  Oh well, phone pictures are better than no pictures.  Oh and in the picture of Bryce going down the slide, he is smiling and happy.

Tuesday: Sweets Candy Factory Tour.  I have heard good things about this tour and it is FREE.  If you live close you should check it out.  If you don't you should google candy factory tours in your area.  They are usually free.  Just be sure to check that it is not one of those tours where you just watch a video or something, and usually you need to schedule your visit in advance.

Wednesday:  Hogle Zoo  We Love the zoo.  We have a zoo pass and we always put it to good use.

Thursday: Group Playdate at a local park.

Friday:  Big party at our place.  The kids are going to run around, watch a movie, and play wii; while the mommies have a little Pampered Chef Brunch Party.  I haven't ever hosted a Pampered Chef party so wish me luck.

Sounds fun right?

Okay.  Now to THAT.

That is that Oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies recipe that has been going around the bloggy world.  I made them on Sunday Afternoon, using this recipe, and took them over to my in-laws for desert after General Conference Dinner.  They were a hit and may I recommend serving them warm with ice cream and under baking them a little.

These cookies are BIG.  Think like the size of 3 cookies, because basically that is what they are.

I had made about 2 dozen cookies on Sunday afternoon and this morning only this one remained.

But not for long.....

  1. What a neat post! Looking forward for more post from you. Thank you for sharing!

  2. Those cookies look yummy. I have not seen this recipe. Where can I get it from? And the Sweet Candy Factory tour sounds like fun. I should do this on a date with my hubby. Have fun on your spring break.

  3. Sounds like a fun week; hope the weather co-operates! The cookies, by the way, were delicious!!!

  4. (Those are great pictures from a phone btw.)
And thanks for the tip on the Candy Tour - I'm so going there tomorrow now. :) My boys will be thrilled!!
And those cookies look delicious - but I don't think I'd ever dare make them because I'd eat way too many.
