Rapunzel Wreath Tutorial

As part of the preparation for our big Tangled Birthday bash I made this fun Rapunzel wreath.  It was pretty easy and didn't take very long.

First I tied a loop of embroidery thread and hung it around the railing.  You could hang it from anything that is going to allow you to easily braid it.  Then I used 2 packages of yarn and ran the two ends up and through the loop and then back down and cut them.  Up and down and up and down.  I kept going until I was out of yarn.

Then  I divided the "hair" into 3 sections and started braiding them.  It felt kinda like a loopy may pool kinda dance to braid them.  Just make sure you are not letting them get tangled  (hee, hee) at the end.  Once you get down to the end, rubber band it off and tie on a ribbon.

Then I just made a little Happy Birthday Emma sign and used a left over bit of yarn to attach a sign and weave it into dollar store wreath making sure there was enough left to create a loop so I could hang just the wreath from the wreath hanger.

To hang the braid from the door I took the loop I used the hang it from the railing and tied it so it was smaller.  Then I used a flat top thumb tack and tacked it to the top of the door.  Then I hung the wreath on the door and swagged the braid over to the wreath and used ribbon to attach it to the braid.

Then I used the other left over bit of yarn to attach the braid in the other spot.  Just try to attach the second spot so that the wreath hangs straight.  Any little ends of yarn should be tucked into the braid.  After all Rapunzel's hair was never cut.

I tried adding flowers to it, but I just didn't like it so I left it plain.
