Halloween Wreath

We have like no Halloween decorations and this year I wasn't going to let that be the case anymore.  So this week I have been working on making some.  First on my list was a wreath.

I am loving it.  And the best part about it was the it only cost $2.

First I took old packing paper I had laying around.  You know the thin brown stuff the tears apart.  Then I laid the paper out on my kitchen island and watered down some craft paint it make it more like a wash.  Using a wide foam brush I just quickly brushed it on one side.

Then I flipped it over and did the same thing in white.

This gave the paper a really cool texture.

Then I let the sheets of paper dry, stacked them up, and cut them into rectangles.  I didn't cut them very straight and there were different sizes.

Then I started hot glueing them to a wreath I got at the dollar store.

Once the wreath was totally covered I added the skeletons that I got also got at the dollar store.  It was $1 for a pack of 4.

I can't wait to show you the rest of my front porch decorating.  It turned out kinda beautiful in a creepy kind way.  It is almost done so I am sure I will be getting pictures of it up soon.

And don't forget about the Halloween Costume Linky Party here starting Friday night.  It will be my first linky party so please help make it a success and stop by to get some great Halloween costume inspiration.  And remember I don't care if it is this years costumes or a costume post from 3 years ago.  See you there.

Sharing the linky love
